Yext Co-Hosts ‘Duplicates’ Webinar

Yext is co-hosting a webinar on Thursday, June 5th at 2:00pm ET to discuss duplicate business listings, specifically what causes them, why they matter, and how to fix them.

See details below for the full description:

Duplicate business listings have long been a significant problem in the local SEO arena. Duplicate records cause customer confusion in addition to a variety of other issues, all of which can cost a business time and money.

To solve the problem of duplicates, everyone in the local media industry must first understand how they are created and proliferated, and why they are so hard to remove. It’s also crucial to understand how they negatively affect consumers in their buying process and the implications this effect has on local business discoverability.

Duplicate Listings

Join BIA/Kelsey’s Jed Williams, Yext’s Christian Ward, and Local SEO expert Andrew Shotland for a webinar that covers everything you need to know about duplicates, why they matter for your business and customers, and how to fix them.

Attendees will learn:

  • Why dupes are bad for marketers and customers
  • How dupes are created
  • How to solve the duplicate listings problem…and keep it solved

Register here to join the webinar this Thursday, June 5th from 2:00-3:00pm EDT.

Pie for Pi Day

Every year on March 14th the world celebrates Pi, one of the most recognized and important mathematical constants in history, and the only appropriate way to honor this mathematical triumph is with a pie feast.

Long table shot

The official celebrations began at 1:59 pm to symbolize the value sequence of Pi (3.14159).

Pie dig-in

Nothing sets the mood like some Pi tunes (Yes, it’s a real thing!)

Yexters love their pi(e)!

He kicked off the event with a discussion about the differences between working in Canada versus the United States, and then progressed to a comparison of work environments on the East and West coasts. The panelists then transitioned into a conversation about choosing career paths in technology and finished the discussion with advice on how to develop yourself professionally.

Some of the tips that resonated with the audience were:

Finding Local Love: A Tale of Two Robots

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we decided to share a beautiful love story that’s blossoming at Yext.

__________________

As the best love stories do, it all started on Tinder. Boy Robot took a break from his hectic work day to do some swiping.

Tinder-2

He stumbled upon this profile and liked what he saw. They set up a date to meet at a great local spot, The Snack Kitchen.

Girl-Robot-TinderBoy Robot headed to The Snack Kitchen, but when he arrived his lady friend was nowhere to be found!

Reg-Kitchen

Boy Robot checked into Foursquare and discovered that there was incorrect geodata, and that the Girl Robot had accidentally gone to The Engineering Snack Kitchen on the other side of the office.

He raced off to catch her before it was too late!

Robot-Movie-3

They ran into each other in the hallway and hit it off immediately.

Time flew by and before they knew it, they were sneaking off to the Nap Pod for some “alone time.”

Don’t let bad geodata keep you from finding love! Happy Valentine’s Day from Yext.

Celebrating Our One-Year Anniversary On Madison Avenue

This week marks the one-year anniversary of Yext’s move from Chelsea Market to our new offices on Madison Avenue. As we all bundle up inside during this cold January, we can’t help but think back nostalgically to all of the fun we had during our office housewarming party last winter. As you can see below, Yexters love a photobooth!
