Dr. Alex Casuccio | In the first half of life, Dr. Alex Casuccio owned a very successful veterinary practice in Morgantown, West Virginia (70 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA). In his 20 (+) years of practice ownership, Dr. Casuccio became a highly respected member of the veterinary medical community, receiving referral cases from West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland and often from as far away as Florida. (As a way to offer you a measure of Dr. Casuccio’s expertise; a major brokerage firm handled the sale of Dr. Casuccio’s practice in 2003 and, at the time, it was the largest one-man practice that they had sold in the northeast United States.) After selling his veterinary practice in 2003 Dr. Casuccio moved west to seek the southwestern lifestyle that he had always yearned for. After moving to Scottsdale, Dr. Casuccio traveled around Arizona to do "relief work" for other veterinarians who needed temporary help. During his first 5 years in Arizona, Dr. Casuccio and his wife, Michelle, built a very successful real estate business. Michelle now runs the family business but Doc still helps her, as needed, on his days off from Banfield.
When he’s not working, “Doc” (as he’s known to his friends) can be found riding one of his Quarter Horses through the Tonto Preserve or flying high above Arizona (Doc is a commercial pilot in both multi-engine land and sea planes) or you might even see him cruising around town on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Camping, fishing and hunting are his “thing” as well as working as a cowboy in Oklahoma at roundup time on a friend’s cattle ranch rounding up calves for castration and branding.

Dr. Rachel Cherico | I was born in Wilmington, DE and grew up in Landenberg, PA. I’ve always loved animals, and have owned quite the variety over the years. I also worked in a horse barn, several pet stores, and at a vet clinic during high school and college to stay near animals and learn all I could about small animals, horses, and exotic animals. I attended undergraduate school at the University of Delaware as an Animal Science major. After earning my Bachelor of Science degree, I attended vet school at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, where I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While every subject pertaining to veterinary medicine is fascinating, I have a special interest in surgery.
My parents still live in PA, and I have one younger brother who is a pilot for Skywest in Salt Lake City, UT. It has been a dream of mine for several years to move out west in sight of mountains and be in the heat; I am glad to finally be here! I feel it is a privilege and an honor to be treating and helping the four-legged family members of the Scottsdale area.
I currently own an Arabian gelding named Calabar, a Doberman named Kal-El (after Superman!), a white mosaic chinchilla named Cinder, a Peruvian Red-tail Boa named Crimson, a Brazilian Rainbow Boa named Prism, and a Western Hognose Snake named Bluff.
In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, climbing, anything to do with cars, listening to music, charcoal drawing, reading, running, working out at the gym, spending time with my friends, watching my favorite television shows and movies, and laying out by the pool.
