Our doctors and staff are dedicated to providing quality care for your pet, as well as care for animals at Busch Gardens, Virginia Living Museum, Sandy Bottom Nature Park, Blue Bird Gap Farm, and the SPCA Zoo. | Dr. David Brinker | Dr. Dave Brinker established the practice. He received his undergraduate degree from Miami University (Ohio) in 1976 and worked as a zookeeper at the Columbus Zoo from 1976 - 1978. He graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1981. After serving as an Army veterinarian at Ft. Monroe and Langley Air Force Base from 1981 - 1984 he practiced as a relief veterinarian for several are practices including the local emergency hospital and spent one year on staff at Pembroke Animal Hospital in Virginia Beach. Dr. Brinker is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Zoo Practitioners, the Association of Avian Practitioners, and the D. C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine. |
 Dr. Laura Strebel Ward | Dr. Laura Strebel Ward graduated from The University of Richmond, Virginia with her B.S. in biology. She then pursued her doctorate in veterinary medicine graduating from Ross University in 2005. Her clinical year was performed at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Greater Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association. She volunteers with “Operation Catnip,” a monthly feral cat clinic held in Richmond, Virginia. Her special interests are internal medicine and surgery. |
 Dr. Stephanie Hall | Dr. Stephanie Hall received her B.S. in Animal Science at Mississippi State University. She graduated from Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 1999. Dr. Hall spent the year following graduation working part time at Centerville Animal Hospital and Dominion Equine Clinic while completing a small animal internship at the Greenbrier Veterinary Referral Center in Chesapeake. While the majority of her internship was spent with Animal Allergy and Dermatology, she also saw cases with Animal Internal Medicine of Tidewater Animal Eye Care and Veterinary Surgical Specialists. She also worked as a relief Veterinarian at the Greenbrier Veterinary Emergency Clinic. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. Her professional interests include internal medicine and ophthalmology. |
 Dr. Phyllis Neumann | Dr. Phyllis Neumann received her B.S. in Biology from Southampton College in 1980 and her M.S. in epidemiology from Texas A & M University in 1982. After working for the USDA and Texas A & M University for 2 years, she was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A & M. She received her DVM in 1988 and has been practicing small animal medicine since then. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Greater Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association, and the Association of Women Veterinarians. She is also a member of the Tidewater Veterinary Academy which provides monthly seminars on current topics concerning veterinary medicine and surgery. |
