DTV & HDTV - What's the Difference?

As analog transmission ends and people change over to digital, it's important to know the different digital formats available to you when choosing a new TV. People often think that Digital Television (DTV) and High-Definition Television (HDTV) are one in the same, but this is not always true. While HDTV is considered a type DTV, DTV is simply a more general term for a range of television formats, only some of which are high-definition and considered HDTV.
