Larry Nieman, DVM / Charter Owner
Dr. Larry Nieman received his DVM degree from Oklahoma State University (Go Sooners!) in 1975. He practiced medicine in Edmond, Oklahoma for 25 years before coming to Connecticut.
Dr. Nieman has been the owner of three Veterinary Hospitals prior to becoming a Charter Owner of Banfield, The Pet Hospital Norwalk. He has been the Chief of Staff at New Haven Central and Foxon Veterinary Hospitals in Connecticut. He is the Past President of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association and the Fairfield County Veterinary Association. He works with the Public Relations and Governmental Affairs Committees of the CVMA. He has been a frequent speaker at the Western States Veterinary Conference and is well known for his work as a consultant in the boarding kennels industry. His interest is primarily in internal medicine but he is also a very experienced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeon.
Dr. Nieman and his wife, Joan, have been married since 1971 and have a son, Jay. Their family includes a dog, Clyde, and a cat, Bob.
Tom Maley, DVM / Chief of Staff
Dr. Maley received his veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 2008. He is accomplished in all areas of veterinary care, including dental procedures and surgery, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, wellness and preventive medicine.
Dr. Maley and his new bride, Sasha, have an extended pet family which includes Casey, a 13-year old Yellow Labrador Retriever; Onyx, an eight-year old mixed Spaniel; Beem, a five-year old English Setter; and Finn, a three-year old domestic shorthair cat.
In his free time, Dr. Maley enjoys the great outdoors with a variety of activities. Dr. Maley is also an accomplished woodworker.
