Doctors
Dr. Adam Ainspan
Dr. Adam Ainspan graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He completed an internship in companion animal medicine and surgery at The Pittsford Animal Hospital in Rochester, NY. Dr. Ainspan practiced companion animal medicine and surgery in Maryland and Virginia until joining the Northern Virginia Veterinary Associates in 1991.
Dr. Ainspan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. He has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Ainspan is the finance chair for the Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine.
When not working, Dr. Ainspan enjoys spending time with his wife Mary and their children Sebastian and Alexandra. He enjoys playing golf, tennis and basketball. After veterinary medicine, horse racing is Dr. Ainspan's passion. His stable, Graham Grace Stables, has both thoroughbreds and standardbreds that race on the east coast and Canada.
Dr. Jay Margolis
Dr. Jay Margolis graduated from the University Of Tennessee College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He completed an internship in companion animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Margolis practiced companion animal medicine and surgery in Pennsylvania until joining the Northern Virginia Veterinary Associates (Centreville Square Animal Hospital) in 1992. In 2000, he became a partner in the Chantilly Animal Hospital.
Dr. Margolis is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and is a member and past President of the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Margolis is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary Medicine.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, 2 daughters and their dog, Sophie. He enjoys golf and playing basketball. He also enjoys the keeping and maintaining of tropical and marine aquariums.
Dr. Margolis has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Martin Tohill
Dr. Martin Tohill graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He practiced companion animal medicine and surgery in Leesburg, Fairfax and Springfield, Virginia before joining the Northern Virginia Veterinary Associates in 1999. Dr. Tohill is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Tohill lives with his beautiful wife Marie and their three children: Annie, Sarah, and Joyful Martin in Greenbriar, Virginia. Dr. Tohill spends his spare time watching his girls perfect their Irish dancing. He also helps Joyful Martin practice his walking and helps Marie create wonderful handmade crafts. The Tohills have two kitties, Bootsie and Grady, to round out the family.
He has a special interest in exotic small mammal medicine, pain management, and ultrasonography. He has earned more than 40 hours of continuing education in the field of ultrasonography in 2006.
Dr. Susan Christopher
Dr. Susan Christopher is a 1996 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing in the northern Virginia area since graduation. Her patients have included Spot, Willie, and Barney of White House fame.
Dr. Christopher is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, and volunteers with Alley Cat Allies, an organization that spays/neuters feral cats in the DC area. She has participated in Remote Area Medicine's veterinary team at the Sioux reservation, Rose Bud, in South Dakota. Here she helped spay/neuter over 100 pets on the reservation, and provided care to injured animals. She attends the DC Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Christopher enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, with a special interest in endocrinology, general wellness/preventive medicine, and geriatrics.
Dr. Christopher lives with her family in Vienna. She has two animal children - Hootie, an adorable Wheaton mix, and Daisy, a Boston Terrier with disabilities whom she fostered then adopted from A Forever Home. Her kitty Gus is now the clinic cat at Centreville Square. Despite his appearance, she feels obesity should try to be prevented.
Dr. Ylva Bostrom
Dr. Ylva Bostrom graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, MA. She has been practicing companion animal medicine and surgery in Northern Virginia since 1997. Dr. Bostrom is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and the Northern Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Bostrom has a special interest in internal medicine, preventative medicine, and public health.
Dr. Bostrom enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, Delancey and Fenwick. She also enjoys swimming, sailing and traveling.
Dr. Brenda Taddeo
Dr. Brenda Taddeo is a recent graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical year at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Taddeo is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association, American Kennel Club, Animal Behavior College, and Mastiff Club of America. Dr. Taddeo enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, with a special interest in surgery, anesthesia, pain management, endocrinology, and animal behavior.
Dr. Taddeo lives with her husband in Fairfax. They have four animal children, two cats Maui and Kitt, and two dogs Ginger a boxer mix, and Sage an English Mastiff. She enjoys cycling the W& OD trail with her husband, hiking, and traveling.
Dr. Pansy Lee
Dr. Pansy Lee is a recent graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. She also completed her B.S. at Virginia Tech, so naturally she is a die hard fan of HOKIE football!
Dr. Lee is a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association,
Virginia Veterinary Medical Association and Northern Virginia Veterinary
Medical Association. She enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine,
with a special interest in surgery and cardiology.
Dr. Lee is fluent in Korean.
Dr. Lee lives with her husband in Centreville (also a hard core HOKIE fan!)
with their two cute and lovable dogs, Angel and Diesel. She enjoys spending
time outdoors, playing flag football, watching Hokie football, biking, running,
lifting, golfing... basically staying active!
