Doctors
Dr. Maida
Dr. Michael Maida graduated from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy in 1978. He completed an internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City from July 1978 to September 1979, and on September 1, 1979 he started practicing at the Closter Animal Hospital. This was the culmination of a goal that he had pursued from the time he was a freshman in high school - to work as a veterinarian for dogs and cats in an efficient, friendly and warm animal hospital, offering excellent medical care and services with the support of a caring well knit staff who shares his love for animals.
Dr. Maida has been married for 33 years to his wife Nancy, and he has two children, a son Stephen who is 26 years old and a daughter Megan who is 22. His four-legger family currently includes Nori, a 13 year old fawn whippet, Journey, an 8 year old golden retriever, Annie, a 4 year old red brindle and white whippet and Scarlet, a 10 year old sealpoint ragdoll cat. Dr. Maida enjoys traveling, reading, skiing, crossword puzzles and gardening. He is also an avid runner and has completed three marathons and will be running in the New York City marathon in November, 2009.
Dr. Peterson
Dr. Peterson is our cowgirl in residence from Kansas where she grew up on a ranch. She is the proud mother of a very active 13 year old Jack Russell, Preacher; a 14 year old equally active cat, Tomte; a 6 year old psycotic DSH Lucy and Poker, a 9 month old Dalmation who she plans for agility. Her love of animals began at the start and is obvious in her caring manner.
