Doctors
Jaime B. Elia, DVM
Dr. Elia has been an associate at Cresskill Animal Hospital since January 2007. A native of New Jersey, she grew up in Tenafly where she continues to reside. Dr. Elia received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University in 2000, her graduate degree from Cornell University in 2002, and her DVM from Ross University in January 2006. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Elia practiced at Pomona Animal Hospital in New York before joining our team. We are so pleased she chose to practice here at Cresskill Animal Hospital!
Dr. Elia's medical interests include animal behavior, surgery and working together with her clients to provide a long lasting, healthy and enjoyable human-pet relationship. In her spare time she enjoys camping, hiking, horseback riding, and training both horses and dogs. She also likes to spend time with her friends, family, and many pets including a Doberman, a Maltese, two German Wirehaired Pointers, five cats, four horses, and fish!
Nitzan Tal, DVM
Dr. Tal, an associate on Cresskill Animal Hospital's team of veterinarians, grew up in Israel and currently resides in Closter, New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Tel Aviv University in 1992 and her DVM from Koret School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. In addition to practicing at Cresskill Animal Hospital, Dr. Tal has also spent time practicing at Lefferts Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, New York.
Dr. Tal's medical interests include internal medicine, endocrinology, soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. She appreciates establishing close relationships with her clients and their pets. She also enjoys photography and spending her leisure time with her friends and family as well as her pet cat.
Jacquelyn Arns, DVM
Dr. Arns has been part of the Cresskill Animal Hospital team since December 2009. Growing up in both Sussex County, New Jersey and Duchess County, New York, she now happily resides in Bloomfield, New Jersey. She attended SUNY Cobleskill and Cornell University, receiving her undergraduate degree in 1991 and then went on to pursue her veterinary studies at Cornell, earning her DVM in 1997. Prior to joining our team, she practiced in both New York and Connecticut. We are so pleased she chose to join us here at Cresskill Animal Hospital!
Dr. Arns loves meeting new clients and their pets! She has special interest in exotic pet medicine and is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Outside of work she collects and shows model horses and will be running the 2010 North American Model Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky this summer. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and live music, especially Weird Al Yankovic and They Might Be Giants (she even met her husband at a Weird Al concert!). She also loves spending time with her three cats of varying levels of obnoxiousness – Cody, Suzy & Kiko!
Robin Gwiazdowski, DVM
Dr. Gwiazdowski is Cresskill Animal Hospital’s newest addition, joining us in March 2010. A lifelong "Jersey Girl", she grew up in Bogota, New Jersey, and now happily calls Fair Lawn her home. She completed her undergraduate studies at Trenton State College in 1999 and then pursued her veterinary studies at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2004. Dr. Gwiazdowski practiced at Eagle Rock Veterinary Hospital, Hawthorne Animal Hospital, and Nutley Animal Hospital prior to joining our team.
Dr. Gwiazdowski has special interest in surgery and ultrasound. She enjoys the relationships that develop over the years as a primary care veterinarian. She is an adjunct professor at a local college and teaches veterinary technician students because she feels that education is a crucial part of the veterinary profession. In her spare time Dr. G enjoys running, hiking, knitting and sewing, mindless computer games, being a youth leader at her church, and spending time with friends. She is a “mom” to her two cats, George and Willow. She also has a great love of frogs and collects all sorts of frog-themed items!
