Doctors
Scott Loveless, DVM
Dr. Loveless, our Chief of Staff, has been part of the team at Harris Boulevard Veterinary Clinic since July 2006. A local, he grew up in Charlotte where he continues to reside. Dr. Loveless received his undergraduate degree from the Western Carolina University in 1999 and his DVM from North Carolina State University in 2003. Since graduating from veterinary school Dr. Loveless has worked at Dickson Animal Clinic in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Dr. Loveless' medical interests include dermatology and dentistry. In his free time he enjoys a range of activities including backpacking, camping, skiing and working on his computer. He also likes spending time with his friends and family. The four-legged members of his family include 2 cats (B & Lochland) and a dog (Frodo).
Shelonda L. Horton, DVM
Dr. Horton is Harris Boulevard Veterinary Clinic’s most recent addition, joining us in June of 2008. Growing up in both Dayton, Ohio and Panama City Beach, Florida, she now happily calls Huntersville, North Carolina her home. Dr. Horton received her undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and then served as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy and also a veterinary assistant at the St. Tammany Animal Emergency Center in Covington, Louisiana. From there, she went on to earn her DVM from Louisiana State University in 2008.
Dr. Horton has special interests in dermatology and ophthalmology. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and hopes one day to hike the entire Appalachian Trail! She also likes volunteering with her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop and spending time with her husband of thirteen years who is studying to also be a veterinarian, their two wonderful children, and two adorable dogs: a rescued Rottweiler named Biley and an Australian Shepherd/cattle dog mix named Jada.
