Susan Bristol, D.V.M.
Susan Bristol was born and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, the second oldest of five children. She began her career by receiving both her Bachelor of Science with distinction and her Doctor of Veterinary medicine from Cornell University. Dr Bristol's work as a veterinarian began right here in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1984. She came to Mayfair Animal Hospital in 1986 as a staff veterinarian, becoming a practice owner in 1991. Dr. Bristol is a member of several associations including: the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, Wake County Veterinary Medical Association, where she served as president in 1996, and the American Animal Hospital Association. She has served on the Board of Directors for the N.C. Veterinary Medical Association, Cary-Page Rotary Club and the N.C. Small Business Technology and Development Center.
Most of Dr. Bristol's free time is spent with her husband, two children, and her variety of animals including an Australian Shepherd, a Miniature Dachshund, a cat, two rabbits, many fish, twelve ducks, and two horses. Although she pours herself into her own pets and family, she is still able to provide the same amount of attention and devotion to each of her employees and patients resulting in a practice focused on patient care.
Irene Rusnak, D.V.M
Irene Rusnak earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Wildlife Conservation from North Carolina State University in 1982, going on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from NCSU in 1988. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Rusnak is a lifelong resident of Wake County where she lives with her husband, two children and two terrier mixes, Angel and Rover. She is a rare soul that longs for the North Carolina hot summers, especially on the beach! Dr. Rusnak's straightforward approach, focusing on internal medicine, provides the foundation for each patient to receive an individualized treatment plan.
John Santilli, D.V.M.
Originally from Boston, Dr. Santilli earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 1988. He came to Mayfair Animal Hospital in 1992 becoming a practice owner in 1995. He lives locally with his wife, two children, and a cat named Ivy. His hobbies involve coaching and playing hockey, spending time at the coast of North Carolina and building/remodelling his home.
Dr. Santilli is the current President of the Wake County Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the AVMA, NCVMA, WCVMA and AAHA. His special interests include small animal orthopedics and rehabilitation. Dr. Santilli is highly skilled in orthopedic surgey and is responsible for the majority of Mayfair's work in this area.
Kristen Musgrave, D.V.M.
Kristen Musgrave, originally from Fort Lauderdale, received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Florida in 1998. She went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are the human-animal bond and getting to know clients and their pets. She has recently become engaged, and lives with her two cats, Jake and Timber, and Leopard Tortoise named Koopa. Her personal interests include web design, music, and martial arts. Dr. Musgrave's conscientious manner creates a safe and relaxed environment for clients and patients alike.
Julie de Silvia, D.V.M.
Dr. Julie" is originally from Long Beach, California. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Duke University in 2000. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at St. Georges University in 2005. She has a "pot-hound" from Grenada named Ritz, and a cat named Oliver. She is a member of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She has a strong interest in dermatology. Her hobbies include reading, biking, training for Triathalons, and spending time with her husband (who is also a veterinarian!)
