Dr. Jay Whittle

Dr. Jay Whittle

Doctor Whittle, known affectionately around here as "Doc", did his pre-vet studies at the University of Kentucky. He then went on to study veterinary science at Auburn University, graduating in 1987. Upon receiving his doctorate, he moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where he practiced for two years. Feeling he was needed elsewhere, Dr. Whittle made his final move to Palos Heights in 1989 and worked for Palos Animal Hospital until 1991.

His next step was to start up his own practice which became known as Mill Creek Animal Clinic. Although Mill Creek was associated with Palos Animal Hospital until 1997, it is now an independent practice.

On a personal note, Dr. Whittle lives locally with his wife Jane, beautiful daughter Olivia, son Dolan and the youngest, daughter Cecilia. Also included in his family is his dog Ricky, and 2 Scottish Fold Cats named Allister and Madison.

Dr. Jennifer Deyo

Dr. Jennifer Deyo

Dr. Jennifer Deyo (pronounced Day-Oh), a Worth native, joins Mill Creek Animal Clinic in 2007. She began working in the veterinary field as a teenager at Crestwood Animal Hospital, first as an assistant, and then later as a technician. It was here that she developed her love for Veterinary Medicine. Although her initial direction in college was toward the family business of teaching, she eventually realized that she belonged with the animals and headed toward the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!?) for Veterinary School. After Veterinary school, she joined Lincolnway Animal Hospital, and now she comes to us. We are very excited to have her. A large part of practicing medicine is communication, i.e. teaching the humans that bring our patients to us. Dr. Deyo¢??s teaching background has prepared her for this very important part of medicine. Combined with her genuine compassion for animals AND people, Dr. Deyo is just what we want at Mill Creek Animal Clinic.
Dr. Deyo comes from a big family which she enjoys spending time with when she is not attending to all of her rescues : Banshee (shep/rott mix), Gabriel (rott/boxer mix), Miles (French Bulldog), Zacheus (DLH), and Sage (Asian Pond Turtle). And don¢??t forget Eenie, Meenie, Minie, and Moe (4 hooded rats).

When she isn¢??t tied up with this gang, she enjoys reading, hiking, hanging with her family, and playing piano.
