Doctors
Dr. Jay Goldsmith
Dr. Jay Goldsmith is originally from Augusta, GA. He attended Auburn University as an undergraduate and graduated with honors from Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Upon graduating, he began his career at a specialty practice in Sacramento, CA working with some of the top specialists in the field of veterinary medicine. Wanting to return to the South, Dr. Goldsmith moved back to Augusta, GA and worked at Acute Care Veterinary Clinic.
In 2003, he moved to Charleston and opened Park West Veterinary Associates. He currently resides in Mount Pleasant with his wife, Carey, and their sons, Grant, Henry and Will. Dr. Goldsmith has a 2 year old cat, Bo.
Dr. Leland Raymond
Dr. Leland Raymond was born and raised in Sandy Run, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University for his undergraduate studies and the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine for his veterinary degree.
After veterinary school, Dr. Raymond practiced mixed animal medicine and surgery in Kingstree, SC. From there he narrowed his field to strictly small animal and practiced in Salisbury, NC. With a desire to move and live in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, Dr. Raymond welcomed the opportunity to join the staff of Park West Veterinary Associates.
He currently lives in West Ashley. He enjoys anything outdoors, especially fly-fishing.
Jessica- Receptionist
Jessica: I was born and raised here in Charleston, SC. I am currently attending Trident Technical College working towards my Associates Degree in Equine Veterinary Technology. I am a certified North American Riding for the Handicapp Association Instructor. I have been apart of the PWVA crew since June of 2004 as a receptionist. I have a golden retriever named Chance and a white lab named Boone. I enjoy teaching and helping the disabled, being out in the boat, and riding horses in my free time.
Marian
Marian: I was born and raised in Charleston, SC. I am a graduate of James Island High School and just received a BS in Business Management from Clemson University in May 2008. I have moved back to Charleston since then and started working with PWVA in October as a receptionist. I am very excited to be a new part of this team! At home I have a black lab named Megan, a yorkshire terrior named Nicky, and a cat named Riley. I like to spend my free time with family and friends. I also enjoy reading, shopping, the beach, and Clemson football!
Lindsay- Technician
Lindsay: I was born in Pembroke, GA but spent the majority of my childhood in Beaufort SC. I graduated from Beaufort High School in 2003 and Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2006 with an AS in Criminal Justice. I am currently accepted to Trident Technical College’s Nursing Program and plan to start Fall of 2009. I have one dog, a cuddly fifteen year old pitbull named Lena, but hope to add another pet to my family this summer! I enjoy volunteering at MUSC in my free time.
Natalie- Technician
Natalie: I was born in Hilton Head Island and raised in Conway, SC. I moved to charleston two years ago to attend Trident Technical College. I received a degree in Veterinary Technology in May of 2008. I have always had a passion for animals since I was a little girl. My kids include my boxer Sam, and my cat Calvin. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially on the water, horseback riding and spending time with my family and friends.
Creighton- Technician
Creighton: I was born and raised here in Mt. Pleasant. I am a graduate of Wando High School. In May of 2005, I graduated from Trident Technical College with a Liberal Arts degree and Allied Health degree specializing in Veterinary Technology. I have been at PWVA for 3 1/2 years as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have a wonderful 6 year old cat named Murphy and a 5 year old flat coated retriever named Emma.
Bonnie- Technician
Bonnie: I was born and raised in McClellanville, SC. I am a graduate of Archibald Rutledge Academy in McClellanville. I have been at PWVA since September of 2005 and am currently attending Trident Technical College’s Veterinary Technology progarm to receive my Associates Degree in Animal Health Science and hope to move into animal physical thereapy shortly after. I have a rambunctious lab mix named Lucky who keeps me very busy.
Liz- Technician
Liz: I am originally from Columbia, SC and moved here six years ago to attend the College of Charleston. I recently earned a BS in Business Administration from the College of Charleston. I am currently enrolled in Veterinary Technology program at Trident Technical College. I have been at PWVA since April 2007 and love being around animals all day. I have four adorable animals at home: two long-hair chiuhauas (Nyla and Max) and two cats (King Fluff and Sonja Belle)
