Description
We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local practices when special diagnostic procedures are required. In addition to canine and feline patients, we treat birds, reptiles, amphibians and small exotic mammals including rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, sugar gliders, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, degus, gerbils, rats and mice.
The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor kennels. We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets and a limited selection of toys, treats, and other supplies. In addition to routine and therapeutic bathing services, all-breed dog groming and grooming of cats are available. We've even been known to help de-skunk those unfortunate dogs who get so curious....

Doctors
Dr. Cassie L. Jones, DVM
Dr. Jones, founder/owner of Point Vicente Animal Hospital, has enjoyed a professionally rich and rewarding career since her graduation from the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, in 1988.
Subsequent to receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a one-year internship at West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. In 1990, Dr. Jones joined the staff at Wilshire Animal Hospital in Santa Monica. During the following nine years, she worked with not only dogs and cats but also a wide variety of small animals, including birds, reptiles, rabbits, "pocket pets," and pot bellied pigs.
In 1995, while working in Santa Monica, Dr. Jones became a member of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). What does that mean? Dr. Jones underwent a difficult process of additional study and examination to become a Board Certified Specialist in the care and treatment of dogs and cats. As an ABVP Diplomate, it is accepted that she has proven knowledge and expertise above and beyond what is required to practice veterinary medicine. It also means that your pets are receiving expert treatment and a strong commitment to providing the best possible care to animals in need.
Equally concerned about enhancing the quality of care for all animals, Dr. Jones has been and continues to be involved in numerous professional organizations. She is a Past President of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association and served four years as a Veterinary Medical Board Hospital Inspector for the California Department of Consumer Affairs. In addition, Dr. Jones has held numerous positions with both the California and American Veterinary Medical Associations and continues today as a District Governor to the CVMA.
A Rancho Palos Verdes local, Cassie lives in Portuguese Bend with three cats, two tortoises and one husband. Point Vicente Animal Hospital opened in 2001.
Dr. Ann Murata, DVM
Dr. Murata joined Point Vicente Animal Hospital in 2007 as an associate veterinarian. She received her B.S. degree in Animal Science at the University of Hawaii and later her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 1989. In addition to canine and feline patients, Dr. Murata treats birds, reptiles, amphibians and small exotic mammals including rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, sugar gliders, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, degus, gerbils, rats and mice.
Dr. Murata is a member of several veterinary organizations including the Association of Avian Veterinarians, the Association of Reptile & Amphibian Veterinarians and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians. Dr. Murata's associations and continuing education helps keep her knowledgeable on the latest diseases and treatments for these special pets.
Ann has been a member of the South Bay community for over 15 years. Her family includes two cats, two birds, a one-eyed budgie, husband and stepdaughter. In her free time Ann enjoys cooking, baking, hiking and traveling to her birth state Hawaii to visit with family and friends.

His wife also attended Kansas State University and graduated two years prior. After graduating Dr. Clark and his wife returned to California to practice in their favorite state.

Since joining Dr. Clark's family Zoe has undergone radioactive treatment and now enjoys a healthy life of luxury. Reeses was adopted from the KSU Animal Hospital and shares a life of luxury with Zoe.
