Dr. Charles Clinton
Dr. Charles Clinton founded Research Pet and Bird in 1976. He is a 1973 graduate of Texas A&M University. His expertise and reputation has grown throughout the years he has been in practice. Early in his career he developed an interest in orthopedic medicine and today his reputation as an orthopedic surgeon brings many referrals from other local veterinarians.
Dr. Paul Skellenger
Dr. Paul Skellenger joined Research Pet & Bird Hospital in 1985. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University. Dr. Skellenger is well known for his knowledge in avian and exotic medicine and receives many referrals from other veterinarians in Austin and surrounding areas. In 1999,he acquired half ownership in the hospital.
Dr. April Reeves
Dr. April Reeves joined our team at Research Pet & Bird Hospital in June of 2007. She earned her veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University. Dr. Reeves has developed special interests in dog, cat, small mammal, avian, and reptilian medecine and surgery.
Dr. Darrin Lewellen
Dr. Darrin Lewellen is a 2000 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University and has been a member of the Research Pet and Bird team since March of 2008. He was born and raised in Plainview, Texas, a small town in the high plains of the Texas panhandle. He then attended A&M for both his undergraduate and veterinary studies. Since graduation, Dr. Lewellen has practiced in Santa Fe, NM and the Austin area. His special interests include exotic pet medicine and surgery, as well as orthopedic surgery. When he is not working, Dr. Lewellen enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelley and their three children.
