Warren Jones, DVM
Dr. Warren Jones, owner of Amity Woods Animal Hospital and Shoal Creek Animal Hospital has spent many years caring for our precious pet children. With over 20 years of experience, he pursued his dream of becoming a veterinarian by going to the University of Missouri, Columbia and Kansas State University. After completing his educational studies, Dr. Jones went on to serve in the United States Army as a veterinarian for 6 years. With his devotion to helping animals, he volunteered as the Consulting Veterinarian for the United Animal Nations working with people and animals in disaster situations such as the great floods in Texas and other disaster situations. He worked closely with many animal groups in the Kansas City area providing services, educational meetings and disaster planning in the community after the flood of 93'. Dr. Jones has won many awards for his service with animals and community involvement. He has been recognized by the National Animal Control Association for his achievements and awarded the Park Hill School District Business Owner Volunteer Award. He has served as President for the Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association and is currently a member. He continues to support local animal assistance groups with veterinary care and sponsoring events to fund the effort of animal rescue. As a husband and father of 3 boys, he coaches baseball in the spring season and very much enjoys the days he spends with his family fishing, boating and having fun. Though very much devoted to his family, his devotion to animals is truly a heartfelt passion.
Wes Cowan, DVM
Wes E. W. Cowan was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. He attended Southwest Missouri State University and Central Methodist College. In 1989 he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. After graduating, Dr. Cowan worked in California and Kansas. He later joined the staff of Gladstone Animal Hospital in the Kansas City area and Holt Animal Hospital in Holt, Missouri.
Dr. Cowan is past and present members of Phi Zeta Honor Society, Delta Tau Alpha Honor Society, Kansas City Veterinary Medical Association, Missouri Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.
His hobbies include: weight training, fishing, home renovation, scuba diving, camping, biking and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
His particular area of expertise is in orthopedic surgery but is enthusiastic about all areas of veterinary medicine and care.
Lindsay Franz, DVM
Dr. Lindsay Franz is from Overland Park, KS. She attended Kansas State University, graduating with a degree in biology in 2003. She graduated in 2007 as a DVM. Following graduation, she joined a small animal practice in Oklahoma before returning to the Kansas City area.
Dr. Franz is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Missouri VMA and the Kansas VMA.
Her interest include preventative medicine, dentistry and ultrasound.
Dr. Franz enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing raquetball, horseback riding and watching K-State football. Her dog Harley is a lab mix who lives to play fetch.
