Our own Director of Industry Insights, Rev Ciancio recently explored the value of local marketing on the Zip Sprout Podcast. A marketing agency, Zip Sprout connects businesses with grassroots local event, nonprofit, and association sponsorships for marketing and SEO campaigns.
During the podcast, Rev and host Megan Hannay discussed many topics, including how to use social media to build an audience (something Rev knows a great deal about), what Digital Knowledge Management is and the value it brings to businesses, and how marketers can build a lead generation funnel by understanding their target customers, as well as providing helpful and informative content. Additionally, Rev shared key insights into how marketers can humanize their brands by personalizing content.
“There are times at which it makes sense to put content out there with a name attached to it,” says Rev. “If you run an agency or you’re at a brand, you can personalize things. It’s about humanizing a product, humanizing a brand, or showing the hands that create something.”
In previous lives, Rev has owned a small business, a bar in New York City, and an agency that provided local marketing support for small businesses. Having sat on every side of local marketing, Rev has truly mastered the art of digital marketing and online presence management. In his current role as Director of Industry Insights, Rev’s charge is to evangelize the good word of digital knowledge management: what it is, why it matters and how it has a heavy (and valuable) hand in the success for marketers and their strategies.
