Yext, Inc. (NYSE: YEXT), the Answers Company, today announced its collaboration with Satsyil Corp. and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to pilot a modern, user-friendly knowledge base powered by Yext Site Search.

Kathi Vidal, the Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO, is committed to expanding innovation inclusivity by providing America's innovators with equitable access to the agency's vast array of resources. With this in mind, she asked her teams to partner with the greater community to help provide USPTO users with the best experience possible. The six-month pilot is part of an ongoing effort to evaluate and improve the user experience of existing USPTO systems.

"The USPTO's website has a lot of valuable information, but finding what you are looking for can sometimes be challenging," said Scott Beliveau, Chief of Enterprise Advanced Analytics at the USPTO. "People who have questions about the USPTO visit our website first. Today, when customer expectations are higher than ever, we need to do a better job making answers easy to find so people spend less time searching and more time building the next big thing."

Beliveau reached out to Yext, a leader in digital experience software, to help build a new knowledge base using the USPTO's Open Data Portal. Within a few short weeks, Beliveau had a robust Yext-powered search experience that leverages AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to answer complex questions like "How can I get assistance with filing a patent application?" Now, users can search to quickly find relevant information about processes, policies, practitioners, and more.

"America's entrepreneurs and small business owners shouldn't have to struggle to defend their hard-earned intellectual property," said LC Cook, Vice President of Public Sector at Yext. "With Yext, first-time applicants to the USPTO can more easily locate the resources they need to participate in our country's innovation economy. I'm incredibly proud of the work we've done so far and am thrilled that Yext is helping to move our nation forward, one patent and trademark at a time."

Yext's work with the USPTO is a continuation of its efforts to benefit government organizations at the local, state, and national level. In addition to the USPTO, Yext has worked with the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Army Recruiting, the State of New Jersey, and the State of Alabama.
