What are Google Attributes?

Google Attributes provide helpful context both to Search Engines like Google and to your customers about important business information. As a result, managing your Google Attributes can be a simple way to increase your business's chance of showing up in searches relevant to your business —like "hotels near me with a pool."

The attributes available to your business vary depending on your business category and region, but they can include information that ranges from accessibility accommodations to service options.

What changed — and what does it mean for you?

Google has now added two new attributes that allow you to identify your Google Business Profile listing as disabled-owned and/or Indigenous-owned.

If this applies to your business, you can now update these attributes directly in Google Business Profile:

  1. Log into Google Business Profile

  2. Select your listing

  3. Click 'Edit profile'

  4. Scroll down to the 'More' section

  5. Click into the 'From the Business' section to find these attributes**

When managing tens or thousands of listings, logging into each Google Listing to check for Google edits can be difficult and time-consuming. This is why Yext has made it easy for you to manage all of your listings at scale, directly within our platform.

As your partner, Yext is dedicated to informing you on the latest strategic updates — and adjustments to our platform to support these additional attributes are coming soon.
