AI is quickly becoming a core part of how people find, access, and use information. But one big question remains:

How can businesses make sure AI systems and agents are using accurate, up-to-date data — without needing custom code or complicated integrations?

Yext's answer: the Hosted MCP Server, now available in beta.

This new managed service creates a direct connection between the Yext Knowledge Graph and today's leading AI platforms. That means you (and your customers) can build AI agents and intelligent applications — all powered by trusted brand data.

What is MCP, and why does it matter?

Most large language models (LLMs) — like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini — are powerful, but they don't know everything. They're trained on public data, which can be outdated or incomplete. That's where Model Context Protocol (MCP) comes in.

Think of the LLM as the brain. MCP gives it eyes and hands.

With MCP, brands can give LLMs real-time access to the business data they want AI to see and use. It also enables those models to perform specific actions, like triggering workflows or updating systems — all while keeping control over the data itself.

And here's the breakthrough: the world's leading LLM providers have agreed that their LLM client will support MCP server deployments, adopting a shared, unified standard. This means developers and platforms can all connect to your data in the same way — no custom code or manual work required.

Introducing the Yext MCP Server

The Yext Hosted MCP Server brings this vision to life. It offers a fast, secure way to activate the Knowledge Graph for AI-powered agents and applications. And for Yext channel partners, it makes it easy to do this for the customers you serve.

Before now, connecting structured data to AI meant building complex API integrations, writing fixed prompts, and handling a lot of technical maintenance. Now, the MCP Server manages a lot of that effort, standardising responses which allows flexibility on which LLM client of choice a business prefers to deploy — securely and at scale.

This makes AI more accessible, more powerful, and aligned with your data and systems.

In the near term, the best use cases for MCP are for "owned" or internal AI applications — tools built for a company's teams, systems, and data. For now, MCP shines when powering internal workflows. For example, franchised business owners managing multiple locations could ask: "Which of my stores has the worst CTR, and how do I improve it?" The agent could combine Yext Listings analytics with Scout insights to give a clear, actionable response.

MCP also supports "owned" but public-facing use cases — such as a brand-controlled chatbot on their website. Even though the agent serves a public audience, it still relies entirely on the brand's verified data, avoiding hallucinations and maintaining trust.

What you can do with the Yext Hosted MCP server

Here are three key ways to unlock value:

1. Turn business data into an AI assistant

Give tools like ChatGPT or Claude direct access to the right structured data, and let them answer questions that matter to your customers.

As discussed above, here's another example of an internal use case: "Which of the locations I manage do not yet having Opening Hours defined for December?"

With MCP, AI can give a fast, accurate answer straight from the Knowledge Graph and Yext Analytics. No code or setup required.

2. Automate tasks without writing code

Connect to platforms like OpenAI AgentBuilder, Make.com, or n8n to create no-code workflows.

Every team benefits:

  • Marketing can trigger campaign reports.

  • Field teams can update local info on the fly.

  • Executives can get big-picture insights with a single question.

3. Power custom apps with AI insights

Developers can plug Knowledge Graph intelligence into dashboards, portals, and internal tools — so customers or teams can get AI answers without leaving the tools they use every day.

Built for the new era of AI agents

AI is moving beyond simple chat. It's powering agents that retrieve info, make decisions, and take action.

The Yext Hosted MCP Server gives these agents trusted access to your brand's Knowledge Graph and Yext Analytics. That includes the ability to read and edit core brand data — like location details, product info, or event listings — and more categories will be supported soon (Listings, Pages, Reviews, and Social). Users will be able to pair the power of each product with analytics and reporting capabilities and account management.

Because MCP is based on open standards, a single hosted connection can power multiple systems — from public chatbots to internal dashboards. And Yext handles the infrastructure, including authentication, permissions, and compliance.

Backed by Yext research and real-world data

Yext built the MCP Server using the same data science behind tools like Scout Visibility. That means the system is tuned to how AI actually interacts with real brand data — not just how it's supposed to work in theory. This research-driven design powers:

  • Smarter access and retrieval patterns

  • More accurate AI citations

  • Better performance across use cases

Simple, Secure, and Fully Managed

The Yext Hosted MCP Server makes AI adoption easier — without trading off security or reliability. You get:

  • Enterprise-grade governance (same as the rest of the Yext platform)

  • Ongoing updates to match new MCP and AI model changes

  • A managed bridge that scales with you, not your engineering backlog

  • Freedom to choose your AI client through a native LLM client or a custom application with AI engine support

And because it's hosted, Yext can deliver new capabilities faster — based on real customer feedback.
