September '25 Release Notes

These release notes highlight feature updates across the Yext platform. For details on Hearsay platform updates, visit the Hearsay Release Notes.

Listings

We have added new Confirm Sync and Force Sync endpoints to the Management API for Listings. This addition enables users to perform these actions via API outside of the Yext platform.

Confirm Sync is required in certain situations when user approval is needed before Yext can sync listings with a publisher. Force Sync allows you to manually trigger a listing to sync with publishers, without making any data updates to the listing itself.

Note, Force Sync is limited to three forced syncs daily per listing, both in the UI and via API. If a Force Sync is requested via API for the fourth time in a 24-hour period, an error will be returned in the API response.

Publishers

In the April ‘25 Release, we introduced a new built-in Open Date field in the Knowledge Graph. This field previously synced only to Google, but will now automatically sync to Apple as well.

Unlike Google, Apple does not support “coming soon” functionality for listings in their Maps UI. Instead, Apple uses the Open Date field to suppress listings until the specified date, ensuring they go live on opening day and not before. This update prevents the premature visibility issues that some Apple listings experienced in the past.

See the Add a Future Opening Dates help article for more information.

TruckerPath will be added to the Yext Publisher Network as a blind submission publisher on September 17, 2025. This means we will send them data, but it is not guaranteed that they will use or display this information to their users.

  • Country Support: US Only
  • Language Support: en
  • Supported Entity Types: Location, Hotel
  • Category Support: Truck Stop, Truck Repair Shop, Gas Station, Motel, Hotel. Budget Hotel

Opendi has decommissioned their Singapore site. We are no longer able to integrate with them and therefore, will no longer be syncing data Opendi SG.

Reviews & User-Generated Content

We've added two new dimensions to Reviews Analytics that help you track the source of your review responses: Response Source and User Name. This enhancement provides deeper insights into your review management strategy, allowing you to analyze response data by source and user.

The possible sources are Automatic, Generative, Platform, Publisher, Mobile, and API. All sources will have data starting on September 1, 2025.

By leveraging this new dimension, you can:

  • Track adoption across all review response sources and users
  • Better understand the value derived from using Yext for Review Responses by analyzing source-level analytics

Check out the Reviews Metrics and Dimensions reference doc for more information.

Social

We have added LinkedIn to the publisher network for Yext Social for our Direct customers. Now, both Resellers and Direct customers will be able to publish posts to LinkedIn company pages once their accounts are linked to Yext. Customers can link their LinkedIn company pages to brand or location entities within Yext.

See the Link Your LinkedIn Account help article to learn more about setup and posting details.

We have added the ability to create Social workflow rules, which allows you to assign relevant approvers to posts and comments. This feature will help you maintain control over your brand's social media content while streamlining the approval process.

To create a Social workflow rule, navigate to Inbox > Workflow Management, select the Social tab, and click the Create a Social Workflow button.

You can then define rules based on criteria such as entity, label, folder, submitter, or publisher (e.g., Facebook) that automatically assign approvers to posts and comments. When these rules are triggered, a social task is created and assigned to the designated approver, which can be a single user or a user group. While any of the users within a group can take action on the task, only one of the users will need to approve or reject the task. You can also optionally include a due date and specify if content should be published if the task is not approved by that deadline.

See the Social Workflow Rules documentation to learn more.

We have added webhooks for Social actions so API users can get notified when key events occur for posts created or managed within Yext, including posts fetched from a publisher directly. The following event types have been added:

  • Social Posts: Webhook
    • EventTypes:
      • POST_CREATED - Sent when a new post is created internally in Yext
      • POST_UPDATED - Sent when any change happens to an existing post (including status and content changes).

We have added three new metrics for Social using cumulative numbers across Facebook and Instagram. Previously, we had metrics that only calculated these numbers incrementally for each publisher. Now, these metrics are calculated both incrementally and cumulatively. The following metrics will be available in Report Builder and the API:

  • Post Likes / Reactions (Cumulative): The cumulative like count for the same post across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Post Shares (Cumulative): The cumulative number of shares for the same post across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Total Post Reach (Cumulative): The cumulative reach for the same post across Facebook and Instagram (total to date).

See the Social Metrics and Dimensions documentation to learn more.

This feature is available as part of Yext Social.

Pages

We've streamlined the experience for creating new sites and page groups, making it easier than ever to build sleek, on-brand experiences.

We've replaced the previous modal experience with new, simplified screens for creating a site and then page groups. You can now upload a favicon during site creation instead of using the favicon field from the site entity.

Check out the Get Started with Pages for Marketers guide for more information.

We've rolled out a series of enhancements, which are available now. Update your library to access these improvements today. Learn how in the Get Started with Pages for Marketers guide.

  • New Custom Code Section that gives you full creative control, allowing you to add custom HTML, CSS, and JS directly to your pages. These sections do not have access to entity data and cannot be connected to props on the right side panel. Note that custom code can introduce unintended consequences to a page.
  • Localized CTA Links: You can now set different CTA links for each locale, enabling a more localized experience.
  • New Hero Section Variants: Choose from new design options for the top of your pages, including Classic, Spotlight, Immersive, and Compact.
  • Additional CTA Types: We've added more CTA type options, including text and link, get directions, and preset images, to give you more ways to guide visitors to the next action.
  • Directory Site Name Field: Directory pages now use a dedicated site name field, which allows more granular control over your directory's naming.
  • Support for Images and Videos: You can now upload a static value image/video or select an existing image/video asset for specific page sections.
  • New Video Section that supports embedding YouTube videos.
  • Bug fixes and other minor enhancements

Knowledge Graph (formerly known as Content)

As mentioned in the May Release, we will be sunsetting the Knowledge Assistant tool on October 29, 2025, in favor of an updated Yext mobile experience. (See the Improved Mobile Experience release item for more on the mobile functionality that’s available in Yext.)

On October 29, 2025, Knowledge Assistant functionality will be removed from the platform, and users will no longer be able to interact with the feature via text message or Facebook Messenger.

Clients using Knowledge Assistant should have received communication from their Yext Account teams. We will continue to provide updates on the sunsetting process and the new mobile experience via release notes.

As announced in the August release, the Entities: GeoSearch endpoint in the Content Delivery API will now expose all results, without filtering out results based on confidence or granularity.

This update adds support for building a hybrid locator, allowing entities like virtual agents or virtual service areas to be located using only a geocode corresponding to a central city or region pin, instead of a full address.

For more on using this API endpoint, see the Entities: GeoSearch documentation in the Content Delivery API docs.

Platform

We are announcing the beta of our new Yext Mobile app. This app allows you and your team to easily manage your brand on the go.

With the Yext Mobile app, you can:

  • Update Knowledge Graph information like hours and photos
  • Respond to reviews using assets and AI tools to create responses quickly
  • Receive push notifications so you never miss a new review

Resellers can also customize the app branding to create a consistent experience for their customers.

During the beta period, customers will need to be granted access to the Yext Mobile app. Reach out to your account team to gain access and learn more.

Note, the Yext (formerly Hearsay) app currently in the App Store remains unchanged for Hearsay customers. Users with access to both Yext and Hearsay will be able to log in separately to each app.

We’ve added a new Filters Usage screen to Search Analysis, providing crucial insights for experiences built on filter-based search, such as locators. Filter-based search encompasses static filters, facets, and inferred filters.

This new screen provides insights into the most common "queries" used in query-less filter searches, similar to the functionality of the Search Terms table for free-form search. This allows you to track usage, debug, and analyze your filter usage. You can also export data directly from the table.

Note: Some location-based data will be missing from this table unless the frontend is upgraded to Search UI React 1.9.1 or Search UI SDK 1.18.5 (Hitchhikers Theme 1.35).
