Meet the Yexter

Jazmine Mercedes Daniel

Brand Experience Strategist

"Yext keeps evolving and I recently got promoted to the Brand Experience Team after being an Enterprise BDR. This is exactly where I’d hoped to be in my career."

Why did you choose Yext? What's keeping you here?

I was a new mom when my previous employer – another SaaS company – announced they were relocating to Texas. I heard about Yext through the grapevine and secured an interview. I fell in love with the company, the Yext office, culture, and employee benefits. Yext keeps evolving and I recently got promoted to the Brand Experience Team after being an Enterprise BDR. This is exactly where I'd hoped to be in my career.

Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Jazmine - but everyone calls me Jazzy or Jazz! I come from a Caribbean-American background with two siblings (I'm the middle child). I am the founder of Balloonsbyjazzzy and a mother of two toddlers - Jamie & Jade (Yext baby) + 1 fur baby! (SJ - Pomeranian). I enjoy mommy-life, dance classes, watching movies, creating TikToks / Reels, and hosting events.

What does a typical day in your role look like?

Super busy, in addition to having two toddlers running in circles around me! I recently started my new role and I have been learning all the logistics behind planning a successful Yext event. I work with numerous teams throughout the organization – so I'm typically in a lot of back-to-back meetings. I'm still on-boarding so I have a ton to learn. I also support the CBU Org (small biz/mm AEs).

Lately, I've been focused on the Reunion at the Search Bar Roadshow, where we travel to 34 markets and host 40+ events. To gear up for that, I've been creating copy for invitations and building out the invite landing pages. I send out hundreds of invites with the appropriate contacts cc'd for each event daily. I also build out and keep track of numerous reports, including registrations. I work with vendors to secure entertainment and floral arrangements for the venues, and help out my teammates as much as I can. Very soon I will be in the field and adding more to my day.

What was one of your favorite moments or projects at Yext?

One of my favorite highlights would have to be when Howard Lerman invited me to sit in on a strategy session with Brian Distelburger, David Rudnitsky, and other stakeholders around the organization. At the time, we had just secured several big meetings within a few weeks with the No Wrong Answers campaign. Each company we reached out to was worth more than a billion dollars in annual revenue. Howard emailed me directly requesting to meet: "You are the BEST. Are you in NYC? I'd like to meet you tomorrow." When I walked in the room I was so nervous! I was also 7 months pregnant with my daughter at that time. Howard had every single person at the table clap for me. That's when I knew how much he cared for his employees and how important quality vs quantity is at Yext.

What’s something you wished you’d known before starting the job?

How to get creative and build more reports in Salesforce.

What advice would you give to a Yexter starting out new?

Previous success at another company doesn't always guarantee success at a new one. Everyone is on their own timeline and you're going to make many, many mistakes – it's okay if it takes you a little longer than others.
