Yext Commits to Conservation: Driving Sustainability Across the Globe

Yext is dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. As part of our commitment to eco-friendly practices and conservation, our Sustainability Employee Resource Group (ERG) leads a series of engaging events and initiatives across our offices in New York City, London, Paris, and Hyderabad.

Through our Sustainability ERG, we aim to inspire our employees, support local communities, and incorporate sustainability into every aspect of our operations. Here's a look back at what we did this spring — and how we continue to show our commitment to encouraging sustainability.

At Yext, we believe that individual actions can collectively make a significant difference. Throughout Earth Month, we encouraged our fellow employees to adopt sustainable practices both in and out of the office. To bring awareness and foster a sense of responsibility, we provided Earth Day Zoom Backgrounds and incorporated rotating TV spotlights in our offices. These spotlights showcased Yext's sustainability facts, customer spotlights, and volunteering opportunities, inspiring our employees to contribute to a greener future.

Partnering with the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LES Ecology), we organized a playground beautification project along the scenic East River Park in New York City. Sixteen enthusiastic Yexters joined forces with LES Ecology staff, painting letters and murals in the playground area. LES Ecology has been at the forefront of urban sustainability since 1987, offering e-waste and composting services, environmental stewardship opportunities, and educational programs to empower New Yorkers to take action on environmental issues.

To ensure that sustainability is ingrained in our company's DNA, we identified and implemented specific solutions to make Yext operate in a more environmentally sustainable fashion. As part of our Earth Month celebrations, we hosted office activations and happy hours that sourced drinks from sustainability-focused companies. These events fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among our employees, encouraging them to embrace sustainable practices both personally and professionally.

Yext's Sustainability ERG went beyond local efforts and organized various global events and activations throughout April. These included volunteer opportunities, engaging Zoom backgrounds, TV sustainability spotlights, the greenification of our website (Yext.com), social events, and Earth Day celebrations. Notably, our Paris office hosted a happy hour with a special visit to the rooftop greenhouse, offering a view of the beehive and promoting environmental awareness among employees.

As part of our Earth Month activities, we held a corporate sustainability event at the iconic New York Stock Exchange. Neal Booker, Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Yext, moderated a panel discussion featuring industry experts. The discussion highlighted the critical role corporations play in shaping a sustainable future and included panelists Brian Matt, Head of ESG Advisory at NYSE, and Alex Lassiter, Founder & CEO at GreenPlaces. This event provided valuable insights into sustainable practices and their impact on society.

Yext's sustainability partner, GreenPlaces, recently launched a podcast called "Open Source Sustainability." In an enlightening episode, Neal Booker sat down with GreenPlaces to discuss Yext's sustainability plans and the importance of sustainability across all industries. This collaboration aims to share knowledge and inspire others to take action in preserving our planet.

GreenPlaces has been a Partner in Yext's mission for sustainability. We are excited to announce that GreenPlaces now has an integration with Yext as an App Directory Partner, featuring the ability to sync location and sustainability details between Yext and GreenPlaces, making it easier for our mutual customers to be discovered in search for their sustainable business practices.
